NRIC has been charged with inventorying current and recent (since 2000) USAID initiatives that are either focused specifically on the tourism sector or that contain tourism-related activities as a component part of a broader development approach. This information has been catalogued in an online database that is searchable by country or region, type of activity, strategic objective, or keyword. As of March 2005, the database contained 123 projects in 72 countries. The database provides detailed project information and links to online planning and implementation documents associated with the projects.
